Ryusui Shunju — Flowing Water, Spring and Autumn
The Ryusui Shunju design links the changing seasons through flowing water. Cherry blossoms evoke spring, while maple leaves evoke autumn, creating a composition centered on the cycle of nature and the passage of time. The dark lacquer ground is enriched with precious decorative elements and gold-tone detailing for a distinctly Japanese Maki-e presentation.
Japanese Maki-e Craftsmanship
S.T. Dupont developed this piece with partner artisans of Wajimaya Zenni in Japan. The decoration is applied by hand using traditional Maki-e techniques, with official Japanese product information noting more than 12 hours of handwork for the decorative process. Each piece carries the visual character of an individually worked lacquer object and offers strong collector appeal without relying on a numbered edition claim.
Ligne 2 Double-Flame Mechanism
The Ligne 2 mechanism delivers a double yellow flame and the characteristic S.T. Dupont “Cling” when the cap opens. The gold-tone cap and roller areas use fine geometric and linear texturing that frame the lacquer panels while keeping the Maki-e artwork as the focal point.
Fuel, Flint and Care
Use S.T. Dupont red gas refill REF 900435 and black flints REF 900601. The lighter is supplied without gas. Protect the lacquer, mother-of-pearl and hand-applied decoration from abrasives, solvents and hard contact, and clean only with a soft, dry cloth.
